Fix Our Political System, NOW

I am getting real tired of all the politicians saying that our system is broken, but never having any real suggestions on how to fix it. NONE OF THEM WANT TO FIX IT! The average "term" of our career politicians, is over 20 years. And they all seem to leave office wealthy. Costa Rico was founded as a true Democracy, only a few years after us. There, you vote directly for your canidate, with no "Electorial Collage" hand picked by the political parties interveining. There, a person can serve in any office, for one term, and one term only, then they must be out of ALL elected offices, for the same amount of time. Then, if they want to, they can run for that same, or any other office, again. They have had three term presidents. They were good representitives of the people, and the people liked them, they were re-elected. They don't have "career" politicians, who hit the ground looking for donations for their next election. They aren't running next time. An Incumbent does not have the advantage. And the work of the people, gets done, NOW! No behind the sceans deals, no one is going to be offering you big donations, or "I'll give you my vote on this, if you'll vote for that" .... your not running next time,and if you don't do a good job of representing the people, the people, will remember, and have no reason to elect you to that same post that you screwed up in, next time. And if the people don't remember, your opponent will cheerfully point out where you did more for the special interests, then the public. In our system, they are all in bed with the special interests, so that never gets brought up.... and so you end up with millionaire politicians, representing their own special interests.
